Technologies completes the installation of first DC Ultra-Fast chargers at Tops
Friendly Market in Lagrangeville NY
Verdek Green Technologies announced the completion of the
installation of 4 DC Ultra-Fast DC chargers at Tops Friendly Market in
Lagrangeville NY. The site is strategically located right off the Taconic
Parkway at Highway 55. Drivers will be able to shop at Tops or walk 2 minutes
to Downtown Lagrangeville. This is the first of 200 NYPA’s (New York Power
Authority) installations that will allow EV drivers to move with confidence
around New York State.
The official ribbon-cutting ceremony of the first NY Evolve
site took place on September 22 with the presence of Kathy Hochul, New York’s
Lieutenant Governor who drove for the occasion a Chevy Bolt and Gil Quinones,
NYPA President/CEO. They both underlined the importance of Evolve New York
initiative to create a statewide network of 200 charging sites conveniently
located to facilitate the adoption of EVs and New York’s commitment to a
decarbonized future.
The ABB Terra HP are the most advanced ultra-fast DC
chargers. They are dual chargers with the CCS and CHAdeMO connectors that can
charge any EV, including Teslas using the CHAdeMO adapter.
The Terra HP has ultra-high current charging capability and
can charge both 400 V and 800 V cars at full power. With 375 A output, a single
power cabinet can charge a 400 V car at full 150 kW continuously. With Dynamic
DC power sharing technology, a two-power cabinet Dynamic DC charger
configuration can charge two EVs simultaneously, distributed between two charge
posts, with up to 350 kW and 500 A available, while optimizing the available
grid connection. The Lagrangeville installation offers the Dynamic Charging
feature the allows charging the new generation of EVs (Audi e-Tron and Porsche Taycan) at 800
V and in the case of the Porsche Taycan
the ABB Terra HP will charger up to 270KW which is the max power that the
Porsche can take.
The ABB Terra HP chargers offer a fueling experience close
to the one of a gas-powered vehicle.
NYPA has a promotional rate of $0.01/KWH through te end of
2020. EV drivers can use GreenLots RFID cards, Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, and any
credit cards.
